If Railnet.org were a tree its roots might be in the Railnet BBS, a single-user bulletin board system founded in 1984. Its trunk might be the Internet mailing lists hosted there starting in the 1990's. Should we overload the metaphor and call the leaves the links on this site to valuable or interesting rail hobbyist information on the web? Our goal is to help make accurate information readily available to railroad fans and railroadiana collectors. Log in to see articles beyond the front page, to submit an article, a web link, and your comments.
